Swiftlet House Consultant & Contractor · Sumbawa, Indonesia

An empty swiftlet house is the most expensive building you can put up.

Team Rio Walet Sumbawa accompanies you from site feasibility survey to first harvest — with measurements, micro-climate data, and field experience across Sumbawa and West Nusa Tenggara. Not guesswork.

Survey first. If your location is not viable, we will say so plainly.

  • Population count & flight-path mapping around your land
  • Building layout, bird entry hole (LMB) & nesting plank arrangement
  • Sound, aroma, humidity & temperature systems — installed and tuned
  • Monitoring & support after handover, through to harvest

About Us

Team Rio Walet Sumbawa emblem — a swiftlet, nest, songket motif, and the Sumbawa seascape

We build swiftlet houses with a technical reason to be occupied.

Team Rio Walet Sumbawa is a swiftlet house (RBW) consulting and construction service based in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, serving clients across Sumbawa Island and the wider NTB region. We were founded on one observation: too many swiftlet houses are built on enthusiasm, then sit empty for years.

“A swiftlet house that stays empty is not cheap — it is the most expensive thing you can build. My job is to make sure yours has a reason to be occupied before the first brick is laid.”

For Swiftlet Farmers

We also buy your swiftlet nests.

Have a harvest to sell? We buy swiftlet nests from farmers across Sumbawa and the surrounding region. Send photos of your harvest on WhatsApp — we assess the quality first, then come back with an offer.

Offer Your HarvestFull process & what sets the price

Assessment is per harvest, so there is no flat rate. Contact us for an offer on what you have.

For Investors & Partners

Partnership schemes for productive long-term assets.

A swiftlet house is a long-horizon asset: it takes patience to establish, and it can keep producing for years once a colony settles. We work with landowners and investors under several arrangements.

Profit Sharing

You provide the land and capital, we handle construction and management. Harvest proceeds are split under an agreed ratio.

Land Partnership

You own suitable land but not the capital. We connect you with partners and manage the build end to end.

Full Build & Handover

A turnkey project: we survey, design, build, install, and hand over a ready-to-run house with a support period.

Note: swiftlet farming results depend heavily on location, surrounding population, management quality, and market conditions. Team Rio Walet Sumbawa does not guarantee any specific yield or return. All schemes are set out in a written agreement before work begins.

FAQ

Questions we get before every project.

First birds commonly appear within 3–12 months, depending on the surrounding population and how well the systems are tuned. A commercially meaningful harvest usually starts around year 2–3. Any party promising faster than that is selling optimism, not a plan.
Common starting sizes are around 4×8 m or 6×12 m with two to three floors. The optimal size for you comes out of the survey — land area, budget, and surrounding population all shape it. Building too large on a weak location wastes capital; building too small on a strong one wastes opportunity.
No. Some locations simply do not have enough swiftlet traffic, feed sources, or the right micro-climate. If our survey shows your land is not viable, we will tell you plainly and you keep your construction budget. That answer is worth more than a building nobody lives in.
It depends on size, floor count, materials, and system specification. We do not quote a number before surveying — an accurate cost plan (RAB) requires knowing the site. You receive the itemised RAB after the survey, and it is yours to compare with other contractors.
Often, yes. Most empty houses fail on one or two fixable variables — sound placement, humidity, temperature, entry hole position, or pests. Our audit identifies which, and renovation is usually far cheaper than starting over. We will also tell you if the underlying location is the problem, in which case renovation will not help.
Yes. We regularly serve Sumbawa and the wider NTB region, and consider projects beyond it. Travel and accommodation for out-of-area surveys are quoted separately and agreed in advance.
